The works of Mark Gunn, MCC history instructor who dedicated over two decades to teaching American history, world civilization, and geography, continue thanks to the establishment of the Mark Gunn Memorial Scholarship.
The award pays tribute to Dr. George V. Moody, the first executive director of the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges. It aims to provide funds for enrichment experiences for MS community and junior college faculty.
As vice president of student affairs and dean of students, Dr. Gathings relishes interacting with students and helping them navigate their college journey. "Seeing them grow, succeed, and achieve their goals is very rewarding," he said.
With two decades of education under her belt, Jaycee Butler has joined Meridian Community College as the executive assistant to the vice president for institutional advancement and MCC Foundation office coordinator.
