Concert Choir

The MCC Concert Choir consists of both music majors and non-majors and focuses on performing choral music from a variety of style periods. Concert Choir provides opportunities for students to develop their musical potential and aesthetic understanding. Rehearsals include instruction in healthy vocal technique, team work, and desirable ensemble attributes that include intonation, blend, balance, appropriate tone quality, and critical listening. Students will strengthen their ability to analyze and evaluate music and music performances. Students will perform appropriate choral repertoire of various genres. Attention will also be given to relating their music experiences to personal development.

The MCC Concert Choir presents a concert each fall and spring semester as part of the college’s Arts and Letters Series. Each year they perform at the Mississippi State Association of Community and Junior Colleges State Choral Festival. The MCC Concert Choir gives back to the community through charitable concerts and programs throughout the year.
