Families, leaders invited to H.O.P.E. Expo Sept. 20

A community event focused on support, connection, and fun is coming to Meridian on Saturday, Sept. 20. The H.O.P.E. Expo — Harnessing Opportunities for People Everywhere — will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Meridian Community College’s Graham Gymnasium.
Hosted by Phi Theta Kappa, MCC’s Special Olympics Club, Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, and The S.P.O.T., the free expo will bring together families with additional needs and the organizations that serve them.
The event will feature a range of local, regional, and national resources, as well as interactive stations such as karaoke, a movie showing, a book signing, and a sensory room.
Organizers note that the expo will be helpful not only for families but also for community leaders including pastors, teachers, healthcare providers, and law enforcement officers.
“Our goal is to create a space where people can find both the resources they need and the encouragement that comes from being part of a supportive community,” said Phyllis Holladay, Eagles Scholars Program coordinator, PTK co-advisor, and Phil Hardin Foundation Honors College at Meridian Community College co-director.
