Diving into first-day nursing studies

Meridian Community College’s Associate Degree Nursing Program officially kicked off Spring Semester 2026 with a full-day first-day seminar on campus last week – just a few days before today’s start for the term.
Incoming first-semester nursing students, second-semester evening students, and accelerated second-semester students gathered to build connections, review expectations, and prepare for the journey ahead. The seminar opened with a welcome from MCC President Dr. Tom Huebner, setting the tone for a successful and supportive start to the semester.
MCC’s 73-credit-hour program prepares graduates for beginning staff-level positions as registered nurses. Graduates receive an associate of applied science degree and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for licensure as a registered nurse.
With sessions held throughout the day in Riley Health Center, students transitioned into program-focused activities designed to help them feel confident, prepared, and ready to succeed.
