The purpose of the Dual Education Program is to offer qualified high school students
the opportunity to simultaneously enroll in college courses at Meridian Community
College that provide pathways leading to academic or career and technical college
credit.
MCC OFFERS 3 TYPES OF DUAL EDUCATION:
ACADEMIC
DUAL CREDIT
Academic Dual Credit offers juniors and seniors in Lauderdale County the opportunity
to take general education classes that earn both high school and college credit. Students
may enroll in classes at MCC, online, or at their high school. The tuition for Academic
Dual Credit is discounted.
CAREER & TECHNICAL
DUAL CREDIT
Career & Technical (CTE) Dual Credit offers sophomores, juniors, and seniors in Lauderdale
County the opportunity to take CTE classes that earn both high school and college
credit. All CTE Dual Credit classes are held on the local high school campuses. The
tuition for CTE Dual Credit is discounted.
DUAL
ENROLLMENT
Dual Enrollment offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to enroll in MCC classes to receive college credit. Students are not required to attend school in Lauderdale County and may take any academic class available, provided that they meet all requirements.
