Division of Nursing

Meridian Community College’s Division of Nursing prepares students for meaningful, in-demand careers in health care through hands-on training, academic excellence, and a strong commitment to community service. Offering programs in Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, and Health Care Assistant, MCC equips future health care professionals with the knowledge, skills, and compassion needed to make an immediate impact in today’s health care environment.

In addition to meeting MCC’s general admission requirements, each nursing program has specific application steps and program criteria. Students are encouraged to review the individual program pages for detailed information, deadlines, and next steps.

Associate Degree Nursing


The 73 credit-hour Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program prepares students for entry-level registered nurse roles through a blend of classroom instruction, lab training, and real-world clinical experience. Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree and are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN®.

Health Care Assistant


The 16 credit-hour Health Care Assistant certificate program provides foundational training in patient care through classroom, lab, and clinical experiences. Graduates are eligible to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program exam to become certified in Mississippi and pursue entry-level health care roles.

Practical Nursing


The one-year Practical Nursing (PN) certificate program prepares students to provide essential nursing care through hands-on training and clinical experience in health care settings. Graduates are eligible to apply for licensure by taking the NCLEX-PN® and begin careers as licensed practical nurses.
