Frequently Asked Questions

So you can personally develop as a leader, learn about Meridian Community College, and engage with colleagues.

Over the course of the program, you will be required to read one leadership book of a reasonable, standard length and develop a project with those who are part of your leadership class. You will have some time to work on the year-long project in class, but you should be prepared to work outside of class when required. A significant amount of the time required for the class will be included in the one-day-a-month workshops.  Each participant should be committed to attending all the events/workshops required of the program.

Each VP will meet with deans, directors, and other administrative leaders to discuss each candidate and gain consensus. If you would like this opportunity, you should fill out an application to be considered.

The program is designed to encourage growth as an individual, leader, and colleague.

The $500 stipend will be awarded by check at graduation to all participants who complete the entire program, which includes attending all sessions, completing the course material, participating in group discussions, and contributing to the group project.

Of course, program participation would only enhance applicants. Anytime someone applies for a job, it's great if he or she has training on how to be a leader.  This class is about institutional commitment to developing people, expanding opportunities for people to understand and interact with the processes associated with running a college and encouraging diversity of opinions as we move forward.
