Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
What is a QEP? The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a component of the reaffirmation of accreditation
process. Each institution that is reaffirming its accreditation with SACSCOC is required
to develop a five-year plan to improve student learning and/or success at the institution.
The development of an institution’s QEP is a school-wide effort and has broad-based
support of all college stakeholders.
What is MCC’s QEP? Mentoring Connecting Completing
- Mentoring - Every full-time MCC student will be assigned a mentor (staff advisor) based on their program of study.
- Connecting – Mentors will connect students to resources available to help them overcome barriers to completing their degree. Examples include: tutoring services, food pantry, and book loan programs.
- Completing - The mentoring program will help students complete their program of study and meet their educational goals while improving MCC’s retention and graduation rates.
How can I find out who my mentor is?
- When students are admitted to MCC, an automated communication from admissions will be sent with the name and email address of the mentor.
- Students can look in their online student account in EagleNet and see the name of their mentor.
- Students can find the name of their mentor in Degree Works.
Where are mentors located?
- Mentors are located in the Advising Department, in the L.O. Todd Student Resource Center.
How are mentoring meetings conducted?
- In person, over the phone, by email, or by video conference!
