Outstanding Meridian Community College students' academic and athletic achievements shone as they were spotlighted in the College's annual Awards Program.
MCC will form its first-ever competitive dance team, which is set to bring a new spirit of energy to campus life, said campus officials during a press conference held at the PTK Courtyard of Scholars on the MCC campus.
The opportunity to play basketball led Derrius Ramsey to MCC. But it's the people he likes best about his college choice. "The Student Success Center, the instructors, actually, everyone around here is very nice," he said.
Shirley, an 18-year-old freshman from Collinsville, is excited to be on campus at MCC, a place she's known since her dad, Myke, teaches in the Construction Trades Program.
