MCC honored as Great Colleges to Work For® institution

Meridian Community College is one of the best colleges in the country to work for, according to a national research and consulting firm specializing in workplace quality.

MCC is one of six colleges in Mississippi to earn the accolade Great College to Work For®. The results, released this month in a special insert in the academic-based publication, The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 194 colleges and universities, 121 four-year institutions, and 73 two-year institutions.

The survey, Modern Think Higher Education Insight Survey®, comprised of two parts: employee responses and comments and an institution questionnaire on employment data and workplace policies. MCC won honors in three categories: Supervisor/Department Chair Effectiveness, Faculty and Staff Well-being, and Shared Governance.

"Our employees are deeply committed to their work and our mission," said MCC President Dr. Tom Huebner. "And this recognition reflects their dedication.”

"At MCC, we offer exceptional classroom instruction, but our commitment goes beyond the classroom. What truly sets MCC apart is our tight-knight, compassionate community, where our employees support each other,” Dr. Huebner added.

The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest workplace recognition programs in the country. Now in its 16th year, it recognizes the colleges that earn top employee ratings regarding workplace practices and policies.
